It's Sunday night and the cold is already creeping through the cracks in the window frame. Frost was on the ground on Friday morning! This is December in southern California. Lucky for us we have a long and dreamy growing season with a sharp but effective frost. Trusting myself to plant an auspicious crop, I deposited 3 envelopes of well-soaked peas and 2 envelopes of sprouted winter squash seedlings into the prepared garden bed this morning.
